# Date picker

**Date picker** controls are designed to capture dates with an intuitive user-friendly interface.

**Data type**: `date`

### Adding a Date picker control

1\. Edit your sheet\
2\. Click on the **Qommentary Form** extension\
3\. Expand **Input fields** section\
4\. Click on **Add input field**

5\. Select **Date picker** from the dropdown menu

6\. Add a **label** to display in the form

7\. Add a **field** name

If database is selected as data connection, then field name **must map** to destination table column name.

Field name cannot contain spaces.

8\. Click on **Done**

### Setting a custom date format

If you wish to change the format used to display dates on your table, please follow these steps:

1\. Edit your sheet\
2\. Click on the **Qommentary Form** extension\
3\. Expand the **Input fields** section and **Date picker** option\
4\. Click on **Date Format** text field and update the format. An expression may be used if desired.
