# Adding color to cells

Color is a powerful visual indicator which can help identify change or trends over time. The *Qommentary Pivot Table* allows you to add custom background and text colour to dimensions and measures.

To add color to your cells, follow these steps:&#x20;

1\. Click on **Edit sheet** button

2\. Expand the dimension/measure properties

3\. Scroll down to the **Background color expression** property and enter a value or expression

4\. Scroll down to the **Text color expression** property and enter a value or expression

<div align="left"><img src="https://401501562-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FymWrhVQRT6zjlb4bMphP%2Fuploads%2FehViaUK47a7MyvfrfSLz%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=7d245a80-c6c4-4495-8d9c-ff9edefb7e23" alt=""></div>

The pivot table will now evaluate each cell expression and display the relevant colors
