Configuring SMTP details

Qommentary sends email notifications as the default method of communication. You will need to enter SMTP settings to enable email notifications on your Qommentary environment.

1. Go to Qommentary Admin Console

2. Click on Settings

   

3. Enter required SMTP settings:

Field	Description
SMTP username	The SMTP server username (if required)
SMTP password	The SMTP server password (if required)
Timeout	Timeout in milliseconds for network streaming operations
Host	The SMTP server FQDN
Port	The SMTP server port number
Use SSL	The connection should use SSL or TLS encryption immediately
Use TLS	Elevates the connection to use TLS encryption immediately after reading the greeting and capabilities of the server. If the server does not support the STARTTLS extension, then the connection will fail and a NotSupportedException will be thrown. Default is TLS 1.2
From email	Default sender email address to use when sending email messages
From display name	Default sender display name to use when sending email messages

If you select the "Use SSL" option, this one will take precedence over the "Use TLS"

You may need to set user name and password parameters if the server requires authentication.
