Managing comments

Qommentary provides a centralised location where users can explore and find comments that have been created by extensions across any Qlik Sense applications.

Comments can be posted in Qommentary Insights discussions as well as by the Qommentary Table extension.

Comments can be filtered by one or multiple applications and searched by a specific keyword or author name. Additionally, comments can be archived when no longer required to be visible.

Filtering

1. Navigate to Comments » All section

2. Click on the Filter by text field and start typing an application name

2. Select an application from the list

If the selected application/s contains any comments, they will be displayed on the table.

Searching

Comments can be searched by specific keywords or by the author name. You can also filter results by a a specific application or a group of applications.

Searching by comment text or author name

1. Start typing a keyword or the name of a comment author

The table will update as you type and display any records which match your search.

Deleting a comment

Deleting a comment will permanently remove the comment from the system.

To delete a comment, please follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Comments » All section 2. Filter by an application/s of your choice

3. Tick the comment/s you would like to delete

4. Click on the Delete icon

5. Once confirmation modal appears, click on Delete button

The selected comment/s will be permanently deleted from the system.

This operation cannot be undone.

Archiving a comment

Archiving a comment will hide it from the extension and move the comment to the archived section.

1. Navigate to Comments » All section 2. Filter by an application/s of your choice

3. Tick the comment/s you would like to archive

4. Click on the Archive icon

The selected comment/s will be archived.

This operation cannot be undone.

Exporting

Comments can be exported to Excel for offline use. The generated document will include all comments in an application with any associated selections.

To export comments, please follow these steps:

1. Click on the Export button

An Excel document will be generated on-the-fly and downloaded to your specified location

Viewing archived comments

When comments are archived, they are cleared from the extension and stored in the Archived section.

To view archived comments, please follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Comments » Archived section

2. Filter by an application/s of your choice

If the selected application/s contains any archived comments, they will be displayed on the table.

Archiving applications

If you wish to archive all comments contained within a specific application, you can perform a bulk archive operation.

To archive comments on an application, please follow these steps:

1. Go to Comments » Archived section 2. Click on the Archive App button

3. Start typing the name of an application or select from the list

4. Select the application and click on the Archive button

The selected application will be archived and all comments will now be hidden from the extension.
